As we continue to strengthen our culture, pastoral provision, and sense of belonging for every learner, we are pleased to invite internal applications for the role of Assistant Principal – Belonging. This opportunity reflects our commitment to developing leadership capacity from within the academy and supporting staff progression.
This is a pivotal role for a colleague who is passionate about inclusion, motivated by impact, and ready to contribute at senior leadership level to shape the next stage of Brightstowe’s development.
You will be responsible for:
- Providing strategic leadership for student belonging across the academy
- Leading behaviour and attitudes, ensuring high standards and a positive, consistent culture
- Overseeing attendance and punctuality strategies to improve engagement and outcomes
- Leading aspects of safeguarding in collaboration with the Deputy Principal (Pastoral)
- Developing and embedding a strong house ethos and inclusive academy culture
- Supporting effective transition arrangements for students at all key points
- Line‑managing and developing staff within areas of responsibility
- Working closely with the Principal, Deputy Principal, and SLT to drive whole‑school improvement

You will bring:
- Leadership experience at Assistant Principal or middle‑senior leadership level, or clear readiness to step into the role
- A strong track record of improving behaviour, attendance, or pastoral outcomes
- Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills
- Emotional resilience, strategic thinking, and a calm presence under pressure
- A deep commitment to inclusion, safeguarding, and student wellbeing
- The ability to inspire, support, and develop both staff and students
- Alignment with the Oasis ethos and values
